Immigration

Immigrants to the United States may be divided into two distinct periods. They have distinctive reasons for emigrating from their native lands,and for choosing North America. People from different countries came for different purposes. In 1607, North America was settled in by the english. They were in Virginia and they made Jamestown. The Pilgrims set sail on the Mayflower in 1620 to Virginia. At 1625, the Pilgrims made New Amsterdam[which is now New York] at the tip of Manhattan. In 1680,The French go to Louisiana. The German and Scots also go. At 1760

Before the Civil War, mostly Native Americans, Spainards, French,and English came to America.


Post Civil war,mostly Eastern Europeons Came.
